DOHA: Qatar Airways Group has unveiled its upcoming major events and entertainment programme as the country prepares to host the world’s biggest football event.
Qatar Airways announced the development of a beach club, fan area and theme park, in addition to hosting Qatar Live, Daydream Music Festival, Lusail Boulevard brand activation, Qatar Airways Sky Home, Winter Wonderland and the naming ceremony of the MSC World Europa cruise ship.
The projects are the result of a series of collaborations, including with the Qatar Tourism Authority, the Supreme Council for Delivery and Heritage, and Qatari Diyr.
“Today, we see the breadth of what aviation and tourism can achieve together. We are very proud to announce that a series of world-class live entertainment is coming to Qatar to celebrate the most exciting championships to be played in the Middle East,” Qatar Aviation Group CEO Akbar Al-Baker said.
Qatar Airways and Qatar Tourism recently partnered with Ayla Oasis Development to open the family-friendly B12 Beach Club. Doha Sands is one of Qatar’s newest beaches, offering live music, dancing and dining, while West Bay Beach, open to the public, will offer a variety of water sports activities for up to 1,500 guests.
Throughout the World Cup, Qatar Live will host over 60 international artists including Enrique Iglesias, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Post Malone, J Balvin and Robbie Williams.
The Coca-Cola Company is the official sponsor of the large entertainment festival, and Ooredoo is its official partner.

“As a long-term partner of FIFA, this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate true magic and a shared passion for music and football by supporting unforgettable local experiences,” Berberoglu said.
The Daydream Festival will feature the largest lineup of DJs in the Middle East, including Alesso, Alok, Armin Van Buren, DVLM, John Newmam, Major Lazer, Tiesto and Timmy Trumpet, among others.
Qatar Airways and its partners will arrange home theatre circus musical performances including “The Magic Prince” and “Pinocchio”.
From 13 November, MSC Cruises’ largest vessel, MSC World Europa, will dock at the Grand Terminal in Doha Port and serve as a floating hotel during the FIFA World Cup. The ship has six swimming pools, 14 whirlpools, a Balinese-style wellness center and spa, a beauty salon, a well-equipped gym and 13 dining options, with a total of 2,626 cabins.
Qatar Airways also recently announced that it will be the Official Airline Partner and Showcase Partner of Lusail Winter Wonderland. The theme park will be located on Al-Maha Island and is scheduled to open to the public in November.
