Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber won’t deny she has huge ‘privilege’ over ‘nepo baby’ row

The 21-year-old model – who followed her mum Cindy Crawford, 56, into the modeling industry – admits she has had help in her career but insists her performances are entirely her own Work.

She told the February issue of Elle magazine that she wasn’t picked for screen work because of her famous mother: “No artist sacrifices their vision for someone else’s child. That’s not how art is made, and I’m interested in art.

“Yes, nepotism is widespread, but I think if it’s what people say it is, we’ll see more of it.”

Kaia, 31, who is dating ‘Elvis’ actor Austin Butler, is the child of a growing number of show business elite – including Lily Collins – amid growing criticism of Hollywood, Broadway and the music industry , Emma Roberts, Colin Hanks, Lily Rose – spoke Depp, Margaret Qualley, Maud Apatow, Maya Hawke, Lourdes Leon and Leon Nicky Klum.

She added: “I won’t deny the privilege I have. Even just the fact that I have a very rich source of information and people who give me good advice, I feel very lucky.

“My mom always joked, ‘If I could call and book a Chanel campaign, it would be for me and not for you.’

“But I’ve also met amazing people through my mum, and I’m starting to work with them now.”

Kaia adds to her acting credits, which include featuring Carol Burnett on the upcoming Apple TV+ series Mrs. American Pie’, “No one wants to work with someone who is annoying, difficult to work with, and unfriendly” .

She continued: “Yes, nepotism is prevalent, but I think if it’s really what people think it is, we’ll see more of it.”

Kaia adds on some of the advice Cindy gave her, including: “Be on time. Take the time to learn people’s names, it’s good for everyone. If you’re not grateful and happy to be there, someone else will be.”

She said: “Even when I’m really tired, or want to go home, or feel alone, I remind myself how lucky I am.

“Another thing she told me was, ‘I wish I could write more’ because you think you’ll always remember these wonderful moments, and one day, it’s hard to even know what shot it was, it happened Where, and when. So I wrote it down; I wrote it down.”

New York magazine ran a cover story in December about online outrage over the dominance of nepo babies in the entertainment industry, Dakota Johnson — whose parents are Don Johnson and Melanie Griffey Si – is one of the main characters of this article.

Jamie Lee Curtis, 64, calls herself “OG Nepo Baby” after “Psycho” actress Janet Leigh and “Some Like It Hot” Like It Hot actor Toni’s daughter, critics of the trend said: “The current discussion about nepo babies is just trying to minimize, vilify and hurt.”
