Astana – Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates (Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) expressed willingness to strengthen multilateral partnerships.
During the visit, Tilleberdi participated in the fifth round of political consultations with the UAE delegation led by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Sohail Mazroui. The two sides expressed that the two countries have a high degree of mutual understanding and mutual support on the international stage.
Tileuberdi and Mazrouei also co-chaired the ninth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee, which resulted in the signing of a protocol. The two countries agreed on investment, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, identifying promising joint projects in the fields of education and science, agriculture, energy and renewable energy, mining and metallurgical complexes, transport and logistics, and construction .
The Kazakh minister also met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The two discussed further developing the bilateral relationship and exchanged views on current geopolitical events.
In the first six months of 2022, UAE foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan doubled to a total of $128.7 million. The trade volume from January to August this year was US$550.1 million, with exports of US$514.6 million and imports of US$35.5 million.
