Keanu Reeves gets candid about choosing movies like this one speed after his successful action film Take a break.
Reeves recalls being speed when he appeared on the podcast the art of action,Hosted by the actor’s stunt master, Scott Adkins.
Adkins starred alongside Reeves in the recently released film John Wick: Chapter 4 As eccentric German assassin Kira, there’s an unforgettable fight scene in a nightclub that dives deep into the actor’s action career.
During the conversation, the two talked about speedIn Jan de Bont’s 1994 thriller, Reeves played LAPD officer Jack Traven and a young Sandra Bullock, an actor who admits one reason for making the film was its absurdity plot point.
“I just made a movie about a surfer who robs a bank, now I’m making a movie about a bus that can’t go faster than 50 miles an hour? It’s fun to get in here, I like that Jack Traven wants to do good, Like he grew up wanting to save people,” Reeves said.
He further explained: “When I’m thinking speed, I thought about SWAT guys cutting all my hair off and people in the movie screaming at me “what did you do?!”
“It was fun, I went and bought my entire wardrobe. Working on Speed got me back to doing the things I love, like weapons training, and I worked with a really good stunt coordinator at Gary Hymes,” The actor revealed.
“At the time, Highway 105 was under construction, so we had everything. We laid out the whole thing with Tonka Trucks, which was a lot of fun.”
