- This brilliant Brazilian-American startup was selected to showcase its innovation at the CEATEC event in Japan.
- Disability is one of the biggest barriers to education worldwide.
Key2enable’s mission, led by Jose Rubinger, is to transform it into an opportunity to not only bring children with disabilities into mainstream classrooms, but also change the behavior of children without disabilities, so that shared learning outcomes are achieved for the greater good.
The 35-time award-winning startup proposes a unique hybrid solution that incorporates assistive technology and special education in a cost-effective service. The goal is to enable schools around the world to include children with severe motor, physical and cognitive disabilities in their classrooms.
From Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to the United States, Israel, Portugal, Chile, and the UAE, Key2enable has indeed been a long, tedious, and triumphant journey. They have been revolutionizing the way children with disabilities communicate, engage and learn. A disruptive “Special Education as a Service” subscription model that allows schools to equip a suite of plug-and-play assistive technologies, a fully customizable learning platform, and remote solution training for teachers without the need to purchase a single device! Hardware bridges the gap between technology and disability by enabling children with severe limiting physical disabilities to operate computers, while learning platforms allow teachers to create game-based learning activities that simultaneously engage children with different learning abilities. All of this in a monthly subscription plan has largely disrupted the special education and assistive technology industries.
After opening 650 schools and 150 rehabilitation centers worldwide, Key2enable looks forward to success in the Asia Pacific market starting with the CEATEC opportunity in Japan, thanks to the UAE government, UAE Angels and innovation hub Hub71, Abu Dhabi.
To quote Jose (co-founder and CCO of Key2enable), “We thank all the people around the world who have made our journey easier and hope to invite others to join us in turning the tide of education towards inclusion and the UN Sustainable Development Goals , to create a better future for generations to come. We don’t just want to be a startup; we want to achieve feats like this and keep our legacy alive.”
