Mother knows best! When it comes to letting friends get too close to her husband, gospel singer, and actress, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard is making sure she places healthy boundaries for her household. The daughter of legendary gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard, the singer, is listening to her mother and taking in sound advice for friends being around her husband. The singer recently celebrated her first anniversary with her husband Jordan Kelly, and she’s trying to make sure she has more years of love and happiness.
In a recent interview with Page Six, she opened up about advice her mother Karen shared with her. While being interviewed by Tashara, she asked Kierra if Karen warned her about letting women stay in her home. “My momma has already told me don’t have too many people around your house,” Kierra said. “I don’t care how good you trust them or whatever it is. I’m very mindful and careful. I would buy a friend a hotel room before I let them stay at my house.”
As the conversation continued, Kierra explained how she needed to use her discernment and be cautious. “Am I supposed to let them into my home? Because we as believers, we believe that what we have we are supposed to share with others, but I ‘m not sharing my man,” she explained. “Since I’m not sharing my man, I have to be cautious with everything else that I share as far as with him being there too.”
In the end, Kierra mentioned that it’s such a thing as boundaries and how some friends don’t know or can’t understand the balance. Roommates, do you feel comfortable having your friends stay over at your house with your man?
