Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sought global support for Kiev’s plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine on Sunday, telling G7 leaders it was “a clear expression of rationality”.

Zelensky, who attended the G7 summit in Japan in person, has been promoting what his administration calls a “peace package” in recent months.

“We are united by another principle — reason,” he said in a speech to leaders, the full text of which was posted on the president’s website.
“We have always protected our values ​​with action. The Ukraine peace package is a clear example of reason. Thank you for supporting our package.”
In another social media post, Zelensky said he had briefed G7 leaders on the plan at the Hiroshima summit.
He wrote on the Telegram messaging app: “We have formulated the peace formula to ensure that every bit of it is supported by UN resolutions.”

As Russia’s 15-month invasion dragged on, Zelensky urged Western allies and others to take further economic and military steps to support Kiev.
