It has been a little over a year since the unfortunate passing of King Von. However, his family and team are continuing to keep his legacy alive as they gear up to release his posthumous album.
According to Billboard, his label announced on Friday that his next album “What It Means to Be King,” will be dropping on March 4th. This will be the follow-up to his debut album “Welcome To O’Block,” which was released the week before he was tragically gunned down. Along with the announcement of the new album, his label also released the first official song from the project.
King Von’s new single “Don’t Play That,” features 21 Savage. Fans got the first listen of the song prior to its official release back in October 2020 when Von previewed the song on his Instagram. At the time, he asked fans who could they hear being featured on the song.
Following his passing King Von’s team continued the roll-out of his last album. They released the music videos for his singles “Wayne’s Story,” and “Demon,” which were the last music videos Von was a part of before his death.
As we previously reported, King Von was fatally shot in November 2020. At the time of the incident, it was reported that an officer-involved shooting took place outside of the Monaco Hookah Lounge in Downtown Atlanta. The shooting occurred after a fought erupted. In the end , there were two lives that were unfortunately lost, one of those lives being King Von.
After the shooting, Timothy Leeks was charged with murder in the fatal shooting.
