Melody Queen to pay tribute to timeless melody in concert

National Film Award-winning KS Chithra will perform in Dubai next month. Organisers of the event told City Times that Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri award-winning singers and Carnatic Music singers will perform to some of the greatest Indian musicians of all time in a tribute concert.

A concert titled “Musically Yours” – scheduled for Friday 24th December at the Dubai World Trade Centre – world premiere for Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, AR Rahman, Ilayaraja, KJ Yesudas and SP Balasubramaniam.

KS Chithra from Kerala, India has sung over 25,000 songs in almost four years. Chithra started her singing career in Malayalam, known as the “Nightingale of Kerala” for her extremely sweet and melodious voice, which soon became popular and became a popular voice for almost all Soundtrack performance.

Chithra has also recently been granted the UAE Golden Visa. “First of all, I am very pleased, honoured and honoured to be awarded the Golden Visa by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai GDRFA,” she said.

Chithra added: “I am also very happy and looking forward to performing at the upcoming concert, a grand and new concept event, debuting and having the opportunity to once again collaborate with Oberoi Middle East Events, who are presenting in the UAE Some of my best concerts.”

The playback singer said she remembered the days she performed with the late SP Balasubramaniam (SPB), who lost his life to Covid-19 last year.

She added: “I cherish the wonderful experience of performing with SPB Jazz at the legendary concert in Dubai in 2015 for a full audience. I look forward to performing a special segment at this concert and to the great nation post Office.”

Naresh Oberoi, Founder and Chairman of Oberoi Middle East Events, added: “We are incredibly proud to present KS Chithra, the Queen of Melodies of India. This uniquely designed concert will not only feature masterpieces from Chitra’s own monumental repertoire, but also Will show her very few renditions of evergreen classics like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, KJ Yesudas, SP Balasubramaniam as well as music gurus Illayaraja, AR Rahman.”
