She will travel to Dubai on Friday to celebrate Lithuania’s National Day at Expo 2020. She said that when she became prime minister, she tried to ensure that there was a gender balance in her government.
“I have 50% of women in government…I did this deliberately because I wanted a balanced government. Not only in politics, but also women in business and academia,” she said, adding , The responsibility of supporting the family should not be entirely borne by women.
Based on her experience of fighting in a male-dominated political culture in Lithuania, Simonite said that she can do it because she understands her parents.
“They said, if you want to try something, try it. I’m not banned or pointed to something I don’t want. So, this is what I learned, and if I can do it, I will try.”
She added: “One thing we absolutely need to say to children is that nothing is impossible for any of them. Nothing is purely male or female, because it depends on what you want to do. Degree.”

Simonite said her country is seeking to explore opportunities to build connections and respond to global challenges.
