[ad_1]

Hyderabad, March 13 (Maxim News): Municipal Administration and Urban Development, IT and Industry Minister KT Rama Rao has called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government to release five Telangana expatriate Indians serving prison sentences in Dubai. KTR handed over details of UAE Ambassador Abdul Nazeer Alshali who met him in Pragathi Bhavan.

Sivaratri Mallesh, Sivaratri Ravi, Nampally Venkat, Dandungula Laxman and Sivaratri Hanumanthu of Rajanna siricilla district are currently serving their sentences in Dubai. They are currently serving sentences for the 2005 death of Dil Prasad Roy from Nepal. But under UAE law (Shari’ah), the victim’s family has agreed to receive 1.5 million rupees in compensation, for which he himself went to Nepal and met the family of the victim in 2013.

According to Sharia law, the families of the victims can be released if they provide a letter of apology, for which they provided all the necessary documents to the Dubai government in 2013, KTR said. KTR said he had lodged complaints with the Indian embassy and the UAE embassy several times over the matter. However, the UAE court rejected their application for amnesty and said they could only be released if granted amnesty by Dubai’s King Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. KTR asked the UAE ambassadors to bring their appeal to the attention of the King of Dubai so that he can respond positively in this case deserving of amnesty.

UAE Ambassador Abdul Naseer Alshali praised the development in Telangana. Abdul Naseer expressed hope that the face of Hyderabad will change in the future as the infrastructure being built can compete with international class cities. Taking the opportunity, he specifically mentioned Telangana’s strength in Hyderabad’s startup ecosystem, IT and IT-related fields. (Maxim News)
