Reports from the scene and videos on social media suggested people had been playing on the ice and fell, the fire department said.
Several people are believed to have been playing on ice on a British lake before they fell and were pulled out of the water in critical condition.
West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service (WMFS) said they were called to Solihulking at 2.36pm, along with West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Police. Babsmere Park in Shurst.
Reports from the scene and videos on social media suggested people had been playing on the ice and fell, the fire department said.
It added that professional water rescue teams had carried out the rescue and the injured received medical support at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital.
The fire department said search and rescue operations are still ongoing for the incident.
Photos from the scene showed search teams shining flashlights into the water from a boat on the lake.
“We will ask people to allow emergency services on the scene to do their jobs in a safe and effective manner,” it said in a statement.
“We will release further details with our Blu-ray partners in due course.”
West Midlands Police earlier tweeted that emergency services were at the scene of a “serious incident” and that “a number of people” had been pulled from the lake and were believed to be in critical condition.

Police tweeted: “We are currently at the scene of a serious incident on Fordbridge Road, Babbs Mill Park, #Solihull, #Kingshurst.
“Many people have been rescued from the lake and taken to hospital. They are considered to be in critical condition.
“We are working with @WestMidsFire and @OFFICIALWMAS on site and will provide further updates in due course.”
Babbs Mill Park is a local nature reserve with lakes, rivers, wildflower meadows and woodlands.
