Las Vegas Raiders release cornerback Damon Arnett after threatening video at gunpoint

[ad_1]

The Las Vegas Raiders laid off their second player this month. This time, they decided to lay off cornerback Damon Arnette because he threatened someone and showed videos of three different guns surfaced.

In a video that went viral last weekend, it can be seen that Damon threatened to kill someone, and he started showing three different guns to the camera. It seems that this video was originally posted on Instagram and then spread to other social platforms such as TikTok and Twitter.

according to ESPN, Raiders general manager Mike Mayok said that the layoff of Damon was a “very painful decision” and added, “In the past year or so, there have been a series of bad decisions, but we can’t stand it. Can’t support the video of Damon threatening to commit suicide with a gun. The content is unacceptable and runs counter to our values. Our owner Mark Davis very clearly and very unanimously believes that this is not how we behave in this community. The bottom line-Raiders will not tolerate this kind of behavior.”

Damon is the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Mayok admitted that when Damon graduated from college, he was a little worried, but he thought the Raiders could help him on and off the court.

“At the time, we thought it was an acceptable risk… I did more homework on Arnett than anyone else I did in my years here. Obviously, we missed it, which for me is 100%”, Mayock said.

He added: “In my opinion, he is a very talented and kind-hearted young man. He has cleaned up his life and I know he can make a living in the NFL. But not now, there are Raiders.”

Last week, the Raiders released a wide receiver Henry Rugers III After he was involved in a fatal car accident that took the lives of Tina Tintor and her dog. He is also the team’s first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Due to the loss of two players, the Raiders announced that they had signed veteran DeShawn Jackson, who was recently waived by the Los Angeles Rams.
