Nominations for the Abu Dhabi Awards programme – which recognises people who have made important but often overlooked contributions to society – will close in a few days.
Entries for the biennial awards must be received by October 10.
Officials said the highest civilian honor honors those who demonstrate commitment, selflessness and inspire others.
Since 2005, the jury has received more than 250,000 nominations from 135 countries. Among them, 92 people from 16 countries won this honor.
In previous years, laureates have been honoured for their contributions to areas such as healthcare, education, the environment and the preservation of Emirati heritage.
Last year, although the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, President Sheikh Mohammed Twelve people were honoured at a ceremony at Qasr Al Hosn.
The award was established by the late Sheikh Khalifa in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE.
Their tagline this year is: “Who Represents Your Kindness?”
The award recognises the contributions of anyone working to improve Emirati society – regardless of age, gender, nationality and place of residence.
Nominations can be submitted on the Abu Dhabi Awards website www.abudhabiawards.ae.
