Manuel Souza’s lawyer Steve Kherkher said: “The defendants failed to properly plan and hold concerts in a safe manner. Instead, they consciously ignored the extreme risks of harm to concert audiences, and in some cases actively encouraged and incited them. Dangerous behavior.”
Souza went on to say that earlier in the day, security personnel ignored the possibility of results, such as “concert audiences broke through the security gates around the park, rushed into the venue, and trampled on each other.” The lawsuit also pointed out that although the extreme risk of harm to concert audiences is escalating, the organizers “consciously decided to let the performance continue.”
