Let us go beyond geopolitics and rebuild Afghanistan-News

[ad_1]

The world needs to unite to help Afghanistan prevent economic collapse.

After decades of suffering, Afghanistan is at a historic crossroads. It can finally end the cycle of conflict and instability, or fall into national failure, which will bring endless suffering to its people and affect the region. . After Afghanistan, Pakistan suffered the most in the conflicts in Afghanistan.

We have suffered 80,000 casualties. We have already suffered economic losses of more than 150 billion U.S. dollars, but continue to host about 4 million refugees. This is similar to adding the population of a small country to the population of Pakistan. But we remain steadfast. We never had a choice or a tendency, simply, to walk away. As close neighbors, we have no chance to leave.

Pakistan has kept its embassy and consulate in Afghanistan open. Our national airline PIA evacuated the personnel of diplomatic missions, international organizations, international non-governmental organizations and media entities at all risks.

Although Pakistan is committed to doing its best, it must have a realistic view as the situation develops. The Afghan crisis and its deterioration and continuation were not caused by Pakistan, but we are trying to help end the “eternal war” through negotiations.

Pakistan urges the “saboteurs” to stop making Afghanistan’s stabilization process stupid. Afghanistan is a deeply hurt entity that needs healing rather than cynical manipulation. Stop misleading the world by creating barriers between people by misusing online platforms and spreading baseless accusations.

We say to the international community: Persevere to the end and help Afghanistan avoid an economic and humanitarian disaster. Do not repeat the drastic actions of the past, because military actions, mismanagement, corruption, and the squandering of huge sums of money from Western taxpayers have exacerbated the rift in Afghan society. Inspire through constructive participation and positive information.

The new political system in Afghanistan, we say: Strive to achieve real reconciliation and build a political system in which no one feels dangerous because of race or gender.

As a responsible participant, Pakistan not only promotes the peace process, but also strives to adopt a regional approach to Afghanistan. We have also contacted Western countries and various political factions in Afghanistan to work together for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Pakistan calls on every international participant to respond to its call and make real efforts to promote reconciliation within Afghanistan. Afghanistan has had enough of conflict. Pakistan’s suffering is second only to Afghanistan. The Prime Minister’s vision of transforming Pakistan is centered on economic security. Pakistan has shifted its policy from geopolitics to geoeconomics. We aspire to a peaceful and prosperous region to increase international security and stability. This will also help realize our interconnected agenda for regional economic integration.

Providing generous support to Afghanistan will help it to truly transform from a fragmented and mismanaged entity to a responsible member of the international community.

Helping Afghanistan will help prevent economic collapse and refugee crises. The current fiscal measures will increase the suffering of ordinary Afghans. We should reach out and lift them up, not strangle them.

The house of cards led by Ashraf Ghani collapsed at a numb rate, triggering many hypotheses. In addition, there is anxiety and confusion and a sense of loss due to the waste of investment by a regional actor who wants to use Afghanistan as an anti-Pakistan Trojan horse.

Let us go beyond geopolitics and work hard to alleviate the suffering and suffering in Afghanistan. Pakistan urges all responsible actors to learn from the mistakes of the past and let us not repeat the same mistakes. Our method cannot be prescriptive.

Let us seize the opportunity to usher in an era in which a stable and peaceful Afghanistan helps us unleash the true potential of the region.

Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
