Letitia Wright turned to therapy following the death of Chadwick Boseman.
The Hollywood actor died in August 2020 at the age of 43, with his “Black Panther” co-star admitting to being “devastated” by his death.
Letitia, who stars in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, shared: “As you can imagine, I was very depressed. I had to go through therapy to deal with it.
“It’s not like I had a two-year break to process it and then go back to film. We had to start six months after Chad died.”
Letitia’s entire outlook on life has been changed by Chadwick’s death, with the film star admitting she became “fearful of losing people”.
She told the Guardian: “Until it happens, you don’t know how it’s going to affect you. You think you have time, and that’s what I’ve learned. These things make you realize how important it is to reach out to the people you love.
“The number of times I’ve texted actors and actresses that I love them, especially Danai [Gurira]. I text Ryan all the time [Coogler, the director of the ‘Black Panther’ films] Say I love him, ask him how he is doing. I won’t procrastinate any longer because tomorrow isn’t committed yet.
“Ever since Chad died, I’ve been terrified of losing people.”
Letitia also turned to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “Notes on Grief” to help her deal with the situation.
She explained: “She described how when you’re going through grief, nothing can ease the pain. You’re just angry that you’ve lost the person. All you want is for them to come back.
“Grief hits like a thief in the night and it just stays there. You have to deal with it. You can’t tell yourself you’re okay today.”
