Authorities have announced that a light plane has crashed in the extension of the parking lot outside the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Abu Dhabi Police notified on Twitter that a Cessna caravan had crashed due to a technical glitch. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for necessary treatment.
A preliminary investigation into the accident scene found the light aircraft, called the Cessna Caravan, crashed due to a technical failure. The pilot was taken to hospital for treatment with minor injuries. No other casualties were reported.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) added on Twitter that the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that the crash occurred while the plane was on its way to land at Al Al-Batin’s private airport.
The GCAA confirmed that preliminary investigations indicated that the crash was caused by a technical glitch on the way to landing at Al Bateen Private Airport. The crash site was in an open area.
