Lockton launches entertainment and sports practice for Central America and the Caribbean

[ad_1]

Lockton Caribbean & Central America (CCA) announced the launch of the insurance brokerage industry’s first entertainment and sports business focused on the region.

Lockton CCA’s new business – a Miami-based wholesale insurance and reinsurance business focused on the region and part of Lockton’s Latin American and Caribbean Insurance Services Line (LACIS) – will provide athletes and entertainers in the Caribbean and Central America footprint, offering a variety of exposure solutions. These include first-party risks, such as high-value homes, private jets and yachts; business interruption, including event cancellations or absences; custom liability and contract reviews; personal accident and critical illness; and financial and professional risks.

Lockton Associates will also provide policy analysis, legal review, loss control and security advice, and claims advocacy.

The new entertainment and sports business will be led by Giuliano Montano and Antonia Martinez and overseen by Lockton CCA CEO Julian Pratt, both of whom have extensive experience in the deployment of insurance products designed for the region’s entertainment and sports industries. The practice will work closely with Lockton’s Gaming, Recreation and Sports and Emergency Practices.

Lockton CCA has historically represented local independent brokers and insurance companies in the region for many well-known local and international entertainers and athletes. The new approach as a wholesaler will bring new innovative solutions to brokers who bring entertainment and sports activities to their clients in the region.

“Many entertainers and professional athletes who have toured, trained or lived in the Caribbean and Central America over the years have sought tailored advice for their unique risks,” Martinez said. “Lockton CCA is excited to help provide out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving to help these clients manage risk and achieve success.”
