Look: Sheikh Mohammed visits Gitex 2021, because female coders left their mark-News

The ruler of Dubai said that Gitex represents our country’s desire for the future economy

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited Dubai Gitex 2021 on the third day of the annual large-scale technology event.

The ruler of Dubai said on Twitter: “Gitex represents our country’s desire for the future economy. Gitex also represents the UAE bringing together East and West of the world to formulate their future technological vision.”

The ruler of Dubai visited Gitex after celebrating a day with leading female entrepreneurs from the Middle East and North Africa region.

Gitex Global cooperated with TiE Global, an initiative of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), to embrace, attract and empower women entrepreneurs from all over the world in the second TiE Global Women’s Entrepreneurship Competition.

The event attracted more than 100 applications from the region, including the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, and Lebanon. Oman and Saudi Arabia. Forty finalists from various fields participated in the finals, providing them with a platform to showcase their innovative achievements.

After fierce competition including seminars and one-on-one instruction courses at the Dubai World Trade Center, the founder and CEO of Zero Circle, Neha Jain, won the first place and brought AED 75,000 home .

Myra Arshad, co-founder and CEO of ALT Text, won the second prize, and Farah Emara, co-founder and CEO of FreshSource, won the third place.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, one of the mentors of the competition, said: “I am in awe of the TiE Women initiative, which is working hard to bring women from all over the world to this huge platform to showcase their work.”

She Loves Data, a global technology improvement non-profit organization, also launched its first Middle East chapter in the UAE on the third day of Gitex Global.

Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs in the UAE, said: “At Gitex, private sector entities are not only able to achieve technological breakthroughs, but also to develop the’most important’ resource—IT skill sets.”

He said that the Ministry of Economic Affairs is working to establish a public-private partnership and use the resources of large entities to bring SMEs and start-ups to the next level.
