A car that can read your mind? No, we are not crazy here.
A German automotive professional has already done this-it has built a full-featured metal and nut and bolt machine that can truly understand your ideas and follow its instructions.
Mercedes-Benz displayed the incredible concept car Vision Avtr at the Etisalat Pavilion at Gitex 2021.
This car is equipped with technology that allows you to perform certain tasks just by thinking. What the driver does is wear a mind control device-a headband that can read the simulation in the driver’s mind.
“The technology is based on visual perception, and the car has a digital dashboard. The BCI (Brain Computer Interface) device is like a headband and will be worn on the user’s head,” said Frank Weimer, a technician for Mercedes-Benz AG.
He added: “By recording brain simulations, the device can record and measure brain activity. When the user focuses on a specific light on the dashboard, the device can detect and perform specific tasks.”
If you are eager to put your hands on the steering wheel, there is a problem here-the car does not have a steering wheel.
Instead, between the front seats is a central control panel—the car’s brain—to help move the vehicle.
“This device is the heart of the car. To turn the car, the device is rotated, and to accelerate the car, the device must be pushed. Similarly, in order to brake and stop, the device is pushed back,” Weimer said.
Mercedes-Benz Vision Avtr is the star of the Gitex show, attracting hundreds of visitors.Inspired by cult movies Avatar, This car has all the latest bells and whistles, including of course the ability to control it with your mind.
This concept car is embedded with 33 “bionic flaps” to reflect the scales of reptiles. Weimer says this helps accelerate, brake and turn.

“These scales are inspired by the animals in the movie “Avatar”. It has many practical functions, but suffice it to say that it raises the charm of the car to a different level. This car aims to convey to people the harmony with nature. Information,” he said.
The interior, design and operation of the car are also environmentally friendly.
“The seat is made of recycled materials extracted from the ocean,” Weimer said, adding that it runs entirely on electricity.
If you are taking out the checkbook, please wait a moment. Weimer said that this car will not be available soon, but it does show us what the future of mobility will look like. The UAE is the third country to showcase this future car.
