Luke Combs has announced a partnership with Opry Entertainment Group to build a multi-level entertainment center in downtown Nashville.
Broadway has no shortage of artist-helmed bars lining its neon-lit streets, but Combs’s is “more than just a bar,” according to Colin Reed, executive chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties.
According to a press release from Opry Entertainment, the idea for the Combs entertainment center arose out of hunting trips he took with Reed and many other country heavyweights early in his career.
“I’ve been approached a number of times about this,” Coombs said at a news conference. “From the moment I met Colin, I knew I wanted to do this. During that trip , you guys are getting ready to unveil Ole Red (Blake Shelton’s Bar on Broadway). I thought, ‘These guys have figured it out.’ I don’t know if it’s going to happen in my career, but I know if I got to that position and I wanted to do it with them.
“Being involved in the Opry, I understand that you guys care about what you do as much as I care about what I do,” he continued. “Without you guys, there would be no space for my name.”
The sprawling complex will be inspired by Combs’ career so far — notably his 2016 song “Hurricane,” which Reed has long been a fan of. While the name of the venue has yet to be announced, Opry Entertainment has provided a description of what’s inside the store.
The complex has a total area of 69,000 square feet, including indoor and outdoor portions. All of Combs’ interests – music, whiskey, songwriting and sports – will be represented in this space.
High-ticket items include a 1,500-seat concert venue, a 9,000-square-foot rooftop bar with sweeping views of the Cumberland River and Nissan Stadium, and three individually themed interior floors.
The venue, which will be located at 120 North Second Avenue, is expected to arrive in summer 2024.
