U.S. technology solutions provider Lumenore will soon open an artificial intelligence and machine learning academy in Dubai, a company official said. The company believes that there is a wealth of talent in the UAE and the region eager to learn and benefit from analytics.

Lumenore, a division of business analytics provider Netlink, has been operating in Dubai since 2013. The Michigan-based company provides subscription-based artificial intelligence solutions to small and medium-sized entities, helping them make informed decisions about their businesses.

“More and more small businesses are now understanding the importance of the data they have and how good they can be for their business if applied properly. It is in this sense that there are more expectations for data science … Lumenore is in that area and we can leverage our experience and create a data science center of excellence in the region,” Naren Vijay, VP of global sales at Lumenore, told Khaleej Times.

Lumenore’s new academy is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2022. The college intends to enroll at least 50 students in its first year.

“We’re looking for recent graduates or people just beginning their careers to be part of our admissions,” Vijay said, adding. “We will assess progress and, if necessary, increase our student numbers. At the same time, we will also examine whether we can work with local universities to expand our services.”

From a business perspective, Lumenore is working with some of the leading healthcare and education institutions in the UAE. “We’re seeing a lot of interest in our solutions from the retail industry. Fintech companies are early adopters, and we’re seeing a surge in business enquiries from them,” Vijay said.
