ABU DHABI – UAE: – Social Contribution Authority – Ma’an, in a press release today, revealed key areas for the allocation of financial contributions to individual and corporate contributors over the past three years.The authority received these donations as part of its support for three key social priorities duly endorsed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development (DCD).
By the end of the first half of 2022, Ma’an has allocated a total of AED 168.9 million for various social priorities, accounting for the total amount of Dh168.9 million allocated by the bureau from various institutions and individuals through the Social Investment Fund since its inception
As the official channel for collecting personal and CSR contributions, the Authority enables all segments of society, including individuals, organisations and companies in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, to make financial contributions to the innovative social programmes and initiatives carried out by Ma’an for the benefit of contributors, Enabling them to connect their brand with the local community in line with the social priorities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.Financial contributions can be made through Ma’an websitedirect deposit into their bank account, bank transfer, or contact the Authority’s social investment fund team through various communication channel.
The social priorities identified by Ma’an to provide financial support include education, health, family cohesion, social support, necessities and issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.As part of the drive, 49 social initiatives and programs are carried out by various government entities and non-profit social organizations based in Abu Dhabi.
According to the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD), Ma’an’s financial allocations for various social projects and initiatives have had a significant positive impact on the lives of Abu Dhabi’s 695,000 citizens and residents, representing 24 percent of the UAE’s total population % 2.9 million population.
His Excellency Salama Amimi, Director General of Ma’an City, said in a press conference: “The profound impact of Ma’an City’s social support initiatives and programmes on the Abu Dhabi community is the result of solidarity and cooperation. The total financial assistance provided by Maan to beneficiaries was AED 168.9 million. Of this, nearly Dh66.3 million, or 39.3%, was allocated to programmes and programmes supporting the education sector, while healthcare-related programmes and programmes received Dh47.9. million, accounting for 28.4%. In addition, AED 54.6 million was allocated for community support priorities, representing 32.3% of the total allocation.
His Excellency Al Ameemi also noted that Ma’an, established by the DCD in 2019, acts as a link between the government and private and third sector organisations to facilitate collaboration in addressing social priorities.To achieve this, the Authority provides innovative solutions with sustainable and measurable impact to foster unity and cooperation in the UAE society.
She added: “Given the strong involvement of government, private and third sector entities in addressing Abu Dhabi’s communities, Ma’an is committed to providing appropriate support to all our partners to achieve the vision and strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi Government , to ensure comprehensive social care for all segments of Emirati society.“
To make a positive impact within the community, Ma’an has partnered with DCD to provide financial assistance to 49 social projects and initiatives led by various government, non-profit and community organisations including the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH), Emirates Red Crescent Society (ERC), Kanad Hospital, Al Faraj Fund, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), Abu Dhabi Shelter Centre and Humanitarian Worship Care (EWAA), several centres dedicated to the care of orphans and determined people, and entities that provide various social services to the Abu Dhabi community.
His Excellency Al Ameemi reiterated Ma’an’s commitment to adhere to the highest system of governance and to follow the procedures adopted by the Government of Abu Dhabi in all its activities and operations to ensure and measure the expected social impact. Through specialized committees, the Authority continually reviews all details of proposed social initiatives and programs before distributing financial aid.

His Excellency Faisal Al Hamoudi, Executive Director of Ma’an Social Incubator and Contracting, revealed that Ma’an is currently reviewing a series of new requests for social support through relevant committees in relation to innovative community programmes and initiatives to be announced later this year. .

Through the Ma’an Social Investment Fund, the Authority provides an innovative and sustainable mechanism to fund social impact programmes structured around Abu Dhabi and Ma’an social priorities identified by the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development. Financial contributions will go to a social investment fund to help develop innovative and sustainable solutions in key areas such as health, job creation, education, families, communities and the environment.
