Indian music legend Ilaiyaraaja will perform live at the Coca-Cola Arena on November 25 with chorus singers and 65 musicians performing songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
“Isai Rajangam, Ilaiyaraaja Live Concert” will celebrate the world-renowned artist’s repertoire, showcasing the award-winning composer’s evergreen hits.
Famous singers such as Mano, Karthik, Usha Uthup, Shweta Mohan and Yugendran will join SPB Charan, Vibhavari Apte Joshi, Priya Himesh and Anitha karthikeyan on stage. The show will be completed by chorus singers and 65 musicians performing songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
It was conceptualized, designed and promoted by Hals Studios with renowned filmmakers Abhishek Films and Ramesh P Pillai as event partners. It is managed by Krayr Events.
Ilaiyaraaja is a prolific composer whose musical style is characterized by an orchestral fusion of Indian folk music and Western classical music.
Using electronic music techniques, he combines synthesizers, electric guitars, keyboards, drum machines, rhythm boxes and MIDI with large orchestras featuring traditional instruments such as veena, venu (a type of flute) nadaswaram, dholak, mridangam and tabla, as well as major western instruments such as saxophone and different kinds of flutes.
Ilaiyaraaja has won several awards throughout his career. Most notably, the maestro received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2012, the highest recognition for a practicing artist in India, for his creative and experimental work in the field of music.
Earlier this year, Netflix surprised Indian fans by announcing a collaboration with the music composer for the hit show Stranger Things.
