Magnum PI actor Roger E Mosley dies at 83 Entertainment

Actor Roger E Mosley, best known for his role on the iconic TV series “Magnum PI,” has died at the age of 83.

His daughter confirmed on her Facebook page that he had died over the weekend, but did not give a cause of death.

Announcing the news, Ch-a Mosley paid tribute to her father with a photo of his “Magnum PI” golden days and a recent photo of the actor.

Recounting how he was surrounded by family when he died on Sunday morning (07.08.22), she said: “Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your ‘coach’ Mosley ‘, you’re ‘TC’ from Magnum PI at 1:17am.

“He was surrounded by family as he passed peacefully.

“We will never mourn such an amazing man. He will hate anything to cry in his name. Now is the time to celebrate his legacy for all of us.

“I love your dad. You loved me too. My heart is heavy, but I’m strong. I’ll take care of mom, your love for nearly 60 years. You raised me and she’s fine. Rest easy.”

Mosley is best known for playing Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin in the original 1980s Magnum PI series starring Tom Selleck.

His character runs a helicopter business and often gets Tom’s private detective role out of trouble on the island of Hawaii.

In addition to his 8 years and 158 episodes on “Magnum PI”, he also starred in “Love Boat”, “Starsky and Hutch”, “Walker, Texas Ranger”, “Kojak” and “The Life and Times” and other series of works. Grizzly Adams.

His films include “Mackey” with John Wayne, “The Greatest Man” and “The Thin Line Between Love and Hate” with Martin Lawrence.

Before his death, Ch-a recalled the lessons she learned from her father, which she said made her laugh.

Among them was that he had a “little bag full of Starbucks gift cards that he would give to those who did good deeds.”

Ch-a added: “‘Magnum PI’ has been off the air since 1988 (although it’s still in a joint release). He still gets fan mail from his role as ‘TC’. He inspires on an international level The SO guy, to this day, they send signature cards and stuff for him to sign.

“As hard as it is right now, it’s an incredible life for a black boy who grew up in Watts, California.”
