We were born for the wonderful Black Girl Magic story, and Maia Chaka just gave us another one!
According to NPR, Maia recently made history, becoming the first black woman to host an NFL game. She said this was one of her proudest moments, which occurred in Sunday’s game between the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers.
Chaka said in a video: “This historic moment is an honor and an honor for me. I was selected to represent women and women of color in the most popular sport in the United States, proving that I can overcome Difficulties and overcome difficulties.” Published by NFL.

Chaka is the second woman to be hired as a full-time NFL official and the first black woman. She said she hopes to inspire and empower others to “get outside the box and do something different”.
The NFL announced that Maya was rehired in March, and she said she was honored.
“But this moment is more important than personal achievement,” she said. “This is an achievement for all women, my community and my culture.”
Troy Vincent, executive vice president of NFL football operations, issued an official statement after Maya was hired.
“Maia’s years of hard work, dedication and perseverance-including as part of the NFL referee development program-have won her the position of NFL official,” he said. “As we celebrate Women’s History Month, Maya was the pioneer of the first black female official and inspired us to normalize women on the football field.”
