In order to stimulate the patriotism of the younger generation and stimulate their imagination and creativity, MAKTABA of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) launched the 9th edition of the “Little Authors in Big Books” competition.
The competition aims to cultivate the literary talents of promising young students by encouraging them to write short stories, and to compile and publish a book of award-winning works for distribution to public libraries and public and private schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
This year, the theme of the competition was inspired by the reassuring and inspiring quotes of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. “Don’t worry” was assured by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to citizens, residents and tourists last year and reiterated that the UAE is capable of meeting all challenges while maintaining the safety and well-being of everyone in the country.
Shaikha Al-Mehairi, Director of the DCT Library Management Department in Abu Dhabi, said: “We are very pleased to launch the latest edition of the’Little Authors in Big Books’ competition, which continues to highlight the depth of imagination and the depth of literature among the talented UAE students. Every year we They will receive many wonderful stories. Therefore, inspired by the famous words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, we are sure that the works of students this year will reach the same high standard again.”
The deadline for submitting entries through the digital library website is Tuesday, November 30.Winners will be announced on Sunday, February 6, 2022
