Malayan Globetrotters will be the first Indians to take a space roam in Branson-News

Santosh George Kulangara is excited about the upcoming trip he signed with Virgin Galactic in 2007

Is Dh900,000 worth the trip? Well, if you are 49-year-old Santhosh George Kulangara, a media entrepreneur living in Marangattupally, Kottayam District, Kerala, India, then big money will not stop him from realizing his travel dream.

Kurangala claims to be a globetrotter and has traveled to 130 countries around the world-some of them, including China, many times-bought the British billionaire Richard Branson in 2007. The vigorous Virgin Galactic mission, when the space mission was at its best, was considered a pipe dream.

Now, a few weeks after the mission started in early July, after the first few minor issues, Kulangara has been selected as the first Indian to explore space as a tourist.

He is likely to take a space roam at the end of this year or early next year. “I’m not sure about the exact date because only four people are allowed to participate in each mission. However, I am sure I am the first and only Indian to perform the Virgin Galactic mission,” has Labor India, A publishing house, and Safari TV, A channel dedicated to travel and exploration, told Khaleej Times.

Kulangara started traveling around the world with a camera in 1997. He is a brave Malayan who has the “inner eyes” of the whole world and has long been an enthusiastic advocate of space tourism.

With the global population rapidly approaching the 8 billion mark, the Keralit lone traveler stated that “in the near future, the colonization of other planets and space tourism are logical conclusions”.

He can clearly recall how he became interested in Branson’s groundbreaking concept.

“When I traveled to the UK in 2005, I saw an advertisement published by Branson in the newspaper, inviting the public to participate in his company’s space trip. I was hooked on the idea immediately and communicated with his company. India is used to it. The celebrity behavior delayed the process. But in the end, I registered as the first space tourist from India in 2007,” he said.

He felt that Branson’s July debut was an appropriate answer to skeptics and skeptics. “When I ventured in 2007, not many people believed me. However, over time, opponents have eaten the humble pie. I am on the cusp of an important moment because history is in early July. It’s created right in front of our eyes, and more and more of this type of travel space odyssey is lined up in rapid succession,” he added.

He said that the huge sum-900,000 dirhams plus additional training and miscellaneous expenses-is worth every penny.

He has gone to the Mojave Desert in Southern California, where he talked with Branson.

“You pay for the experience, which is hard to get. Traditional wisdom is abandoned, because if I go off the beaten path, then I won’t even be able to make one episode. Sancharam, My travel show has more than 1,500 episodes,” Kulangara said, a rolling stone, he did not allow any moss to grow under his feet.

Ten years ago, he received extensive training to assess his medical suitability for the task.

Fortunately, he has passed all tests, including zero-gravity training, allowing an aspiring space tourist to feel weightless in a few seconds. In addition, G-tolerance training is also heavy, the body weight increases six times, and all the fluid in the system is sucked out.

Kulangara does not believe that making money is a way to obtain material wealth. His travel is easy and cheap. Since visiting neighbouring Nepal for the first time in 1997, he has maintained his innate beliefs.

However, a few countries and regions such as the Amazon rainforest in South America are on his bucket list. He has not been to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, nor North Korea.

Like someone who understands huge wealth, a Malayan, he managed to persuade the Virgin Galactic authorities to let him film in his space roaming.

He knew very well in his heart that he hoped that the public returning home would be able to watch the unique sights and sounds of his space travel.

It is expected to become a Sancharam unique.
