manchester cityAbu Dhabi bosses face an awkward situation with their fans unable to watch their Treble defense next season after talks between regional TV rights holder BeIN Sport and United Arab Emirates telecom operator DU collapsed .

DU acquires BeIN’s copyright package, which includes Super League, Champions League The ATP and WTA tennis tours are set to expire this weekend and renewals seem unlikely.

The DU are understood to be seeking a 50 percent cut from BeIN, which they suspect is politically motivated and a hangover from the UAE’s four-year blockade of Qatar. In another sign of lingering tensions, Saudi Arabia has blocked BeIN’s transmissions since the start of the World Cup last year.

Zaha steps in to save club

Wilfried Zaha and Stormzy have secured control of AFC Croydon Athletic without any money changing hands.

The United County League club in England’s ninth tier had been under threat of closure until this week when a deal was struck for the Crystal Palace striker and award-winning rapper, who grew up alongside Mayfield in Croydon. Stadium in South London.

Former Doncaster Rovers boss John Ryan is auctioning off memorabilia collected during his football career, including an England shirt signed by Wayne Rooney, to raise money to buy season tickets for fans of the second-tier club.

Ryan has pledged to buy 100 eco-electric stadium season tickets for cash-strapped supporters in South Yorkshire, many of whom have been hit hard by rapid inflation and a cost-of-living crisis.
