Manchester United announced on Friday that they have reached an agreement to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus 12 years after leaving Old Trafford to join Real Madrid.
Manchester United said in a statement: “Manchester United is pleased to confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Juventus on the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, but must agree on personal terms, visas and medical treatment.”

After 12 years as the world’s most valuable player, Ronaldo completed his emotional return to Manchester United on Friday. His mission is to bring the Red Devils back to the top of the English and European leagues.
The 36-year-old has forced Juventus to return to the Premier League for the sixth time to win the Ballon d’Or and the final blow of the Champions League.
In 2003, 18-year-old Ronaldo came to Manchester United with a bag of tricks from Sporting Lisbon.
In the 6 years of Alex Ferguson, his physique and final product have changed, leading Manchester United to 3 Premier League titles and Ferguson’s last Champions League title in 2008.
However, when Real Madrid made a record bid of 80 million pounds (110 million US dollars) in 2009, even Manchester United could not resist Ronaldo’s desire to move to Spain.

At Ronaldo’s peak, Real Madrid has been rewarded for more than nine years.
He broke the club’s historical scoring record by averaging more than one goal per game, scoring 450 goals in 438 games.
After ending Real Madrid’s long wait for the club’s 10th European Cup “La Decima”, he took the lead in winning three consecutive Champions League titles from 2016 to 2018.
This is what Manchester United is looking for an elderly Ronaldo to repeat.
The club he returned to was different from the omnipotent behemoth he left behind.
Since Ferguson left in 2013, Manchester United has never won a league title again, and during this period did not even qualify for the Champions League regularly.
Not surprised @Christiano Returned to Manchester United after talking to Sir Alex Ferguson. When I interviewed him, his respect and admiration for “The Boss” was beyond imagination. He is like a second father to him, especially since Cristiano’s father died untimely. pic.twitter.com/K433eVLW35

Since Solskjaer replaced Mourinho, progress has been made in the past three years, but the Norwegian still won a trophy as the Manchester United manager. Last season, they finished second in the Premier League by far ahead of Manchester City. Match.
Solskjaer is spoiled
Ronaldo’s experience in Italy also warned of possible problems after his return.
Before Ronaldo joined in 2018 for 112 million euros, Juventus reached the Champions League final twice in three years.
In three seasons in Turin, Lavícia Signora has never made it to the quarter-finals-being eliminated by a much less resourceful opponent in the games of Ajax, Lyon and Porto .
Inter Milan also ended Juventus’s nine-year control of Serie A last season.
But Ronaldo can argue that this is a sign of a decline in the standards of the Italian giants, not his own standards.
Wow, he’s back ♥ @Christiano

Juventus have changed managers in each of the past three seasons, but finally returned to where they started by reappointing Massimiliano Allegri.
Ronaldo remained at the top of the Serie A scoring list last season, beating Romelu Lukaku, who joined Chelsea for £97 million this month.
Although the Portuguese team has played only four games in the past 16 games, he went back a few years at the 2020 European Cup and won the Golden Boot award.
Unlike at Juventus, Ronaldo is returning to a situation more similar to what he enjoyed in Madrid, surrounded by a star-studded team.

This summer, Manchester United has brought in his former Madrid teammate Rafael Varane and England winger Jaden Sancho.
Solskjaer now has a wealth of offensive options, including Ronaldo’s international teammates Bruno Fernandez, Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Green Wood and Paul Pogba.
However, Manchester United’s season and Solskjaer’s coaching time are now likely to be attributed to Ronaldo’s second fire or failure at Old Trafford.
