Maqta Gateway launches inspection and customs clearance services on ATLP

In line with its ongoing mission to digitally transform trade and logistics in Abu Dhabi, Maqta Gateway, the digital arm of AD Ports Group, has launched a new inspection and customs clearance module as part of its Advanced Trade and Logistics Platform (ATLP).

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development, Advanced Trade and Logistics Platform (ATLP) in May 2020 His Highness Inauguration is an innovative single-window solution designed to unify Abu Dhabi’s trade and logistics services, including sea, land, air, industry and free zones.

The new inspection and clearance module integrates directly with Abu Dhabi Customs’ online services, regulators, and supports free zones, bonded warehouses and e-commerce operations, enabling not only traders to oversee their end-to-end cargo clearance through ATLP, but also Relevant processes will be enhanced under initiatives to facilitate trade between the UAE and the UAE, in line with global requirements and standards.

The new module of ATLP will significantly improve information sharing by implementing a centralized registration process. It also helps to simplify customs procedures by adopting advanced electronic customs declaration mechanisms that allow advance notification of shipments through the submission of electronic customs documents. In addition to simplifying administrative processes through a single optimized interface that allows all parties involved to share, review and process trade data.

The integration of the platform with other regulators such as border control agencies will ensure smoother cross-border operations. Streamlining and enhancing the process of information exchange will significantly shorten the import, transit and export lead times of goods, reduce overlapping controls and duplication of work, and significantly reduce operational and administrative costs.

To date, ATLP’s inspection and customs clearance modules and related services have recorded over 500,000 transactions and now facilitate over 80% of customs clearance in Abu Dhabi. In addition, over 50 million transactions were completed through ATLpan’s innovative single window solution designed to unify Abu Dhabi’s trade and logistics services, including sea, land, air, industrial and free zones.
