Marcus Stroman’s pick on Juan Soto after strikeout is entertainment for Dodgers fans

[ad_1]

los angeles dodgers Fans may not like Marcus Stroman (or have any reason to like him, really), but he provided them with some entertainment during the San Diego Padres Cubs series over the weekend.

The Cubs will try to win the series on Monday night, looking to take three of four games off the mat, and Stroman, who has been firing in the past four games, shut down San Diego in 6.2 innings. The offense ended up being a 7-1 victory (the one point he allowed wasn’t worth it).

priests have a great Chance to make some progress with the Dodgerss, they lost two of three games to the Yankees in Los Angeles, but all they continued to do was tread water and cancel games. The best they can do right now is part with Chicago as Kyle Hendricks and Blake Snell face off on Monday night.

But this series already feels like a victory for the Cubs. Technically, they’re one of the worst teams in the NL, but scored key wins over the Rays and Padres last week. Stroman got a top-notch dig at Juan Soto on Sunday, which is good measure.

After striking out the slugger in the fifth inning, strrowman mocked him By doing a “Soto Shuffle” on the mound, Soto pauses for a moment before walking back to the dugout.

To make matters worse, Soto was asked about the Padres’ erratic offense after the loss and how it has hindered the team this season. His response? “I don’t think I’m the one to answer that question … those guys out there, they know better than me.”

where are those guys after you? Wondering what Manny Machado thinks of his .200 average and 76 OPS+. Or Jake Cronenworth’s .200 average and 91 OPS+. Or Austin Nola, with his .111 average and 22 OPS+. Or Trent Grisham’s .193 average and 90 OPS+. Or Matt Carpenter’s .180 averages and 83 OPS+.

Statistically, Soto has been the best hitter in the lineup, and his answer seemed to reflect that he knew it. Whether what he said was taken out of context or he really didn’t know how to respond is one thing, but one of the top players/leaders on this team probably deserves a better counter than this.

Maybe Stroman was so harsh on his performance that he really had nothing to say. The Cubs obviously have his number, so maybe that’s it. In six games against Chicago this year (the most against any opponent, tied with the Dodgers), Soto hit .095 with a .412 OPS in 26 starts.

There isn’t much shuffling, which is why Stroman probably felt the need to include a remix.
