Marilyn Manson sexual assault probe handed over to prosecutors

Detectives have referred the findings of their 19-month investigation into Marilyn Manson’s sexual assault allegations to prosecutors who will consider whether to bring criminal charges, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators turned the case of the 53-year-old rocker, whose legal name is Brian Hugh Warner, to the District Attorney’s Office on Monday.

The statement on the handover did not provide new details about the investigation, but the sheriff’s department previously said detectives were investigating allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence in West Hollywood, where Manson lived at the time, from 2009 to 2011.

A representative for Manson did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but his lawyer called the allegations “provable false.”

The investigation included a November search of the Manson home, where media equipment and other items were seized.

Authorities have not yet identified the women involved, but some have publicly claimed they were physically, sexually and emotionally abused by Manson before and after the investigation, and some have filed civil lawsuits.

Among them was “Game of Thrones” actor Esme Bianco, who her lawyer said was also interviewed by law enforcement.

Manson himself is suing his ex-fiancee, Westworld actor Evan Rachel Wood, who claimed in a February 2021 Instagram post that he had “horribly abused me for years”, sparking a public outcry against him Wave of accusations.

The lawsuit calls her assault allegations fabricated and says she and another woman used false pretenses, including a fake letter from the FBI, to persuade other women to come forward.

Wood’s attorneys said in court filings that the lawsuit was baseless and an example of his long-standing threat of retaliation against Wood if she spoke out about his abuse.

Manson became a music star in the mid-1990s and became known for causing public controversy with hits like The Beautiful People and hit albums like 1996’s Antichrist Superstar and 1998’s Mechanical Animals.
