The stacked UFC 280 event lost a key fight in strawweight bout.
and mixed martial arts mania Today (Friday, Sept. 2, 2022), No. 3 115-pound contender Marina Rodriguez (16-1-2) revealed that she is about to meet No. 8 Amanda Lay Moss (12-2-1) will no longer be at UFC 280 on October 22, 2022 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Rodriguez noted that the race is still ongoing, it’s just been pushed back to a later date, and she’ll be able to announce a new spot soon. It was not specified why the switch was being made.
Also, Rodriguez said the fight used to A few weeks later, on November 12, 2022, at UFC 281 in New York City. The division’s title will be at stake when Carla Esparza takes on former champion Zhang Weili that night. Stay tuned to MMA Mania for the full Rodriguez interview.
Rodriguez is currently on a four-game winning streak, most recently defeating Yan Xiaonan by split decision at UFC 272 in March 2022. Lemos, on the other hand, bounced back in her first strawweight loss, beating Michelle Watson by guillotine in the second round at UFC Long. Islands in July 2022 (Watch the highlights).
