featherweight clash
It will be one of three UAE Warriors events to be held at the Etihad Arena over the weekend, with the main event being a featherweight fight. It pitted Mochamed Machaev against Bagdos Olzhabay.
Macaev (12-1) overcame Austria and won his last two fights. MMA fans in the Middle East will be familiar with him, having fought for Bahrain’s Brave Cut four times.
Olzhabay (13-3) is from Kazakhstan. He entered the tournament on a five-game winning streak and spent a lot of time competing in China early in his career.
former champion
The co-main event features former Emirates Warriors bantamweight champion Vinicius de Oliveira. He is matched with Japan’s Hikari Yoshino.
De Oliveira (17-3) lost his bantamweight title to the Emirates Warriors in 30 fights. The Brazilian’s six-game winning streak was broken and cost him the title.
