Actress Maya Ali has become the latest Pakistani celebrity to be granted a Golden Visa by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government.
The UAE government launched the Golden Visa Scheme in 2019, the first of its kind in the Middle East, to attract wealthy and highly skilled people by offering long-stay visas. The visa is valid for 5 or 10 years and is automatically renewed.
Maya shared the news on Instagram, along with a photo of her holding a visa with an Emirati official.
“So happy to receive my Golden Visa. It’s definitely an honor for me,” she wrote in the caption. “Special thanks to muhammadmoazzamqureshi1 for making this a reality‼️”
With the Golden Visa, foreigners can live, work and study in the UAE without a state sponsor and own 100% ownership of any business in the UAE mainland.
Other celebrities in the entertainment industry who received visas include Humayun Saeed, Fakhar-e-Alam, Sana Javed and her husband Umair Jaswal.
International stars who have received golden visas include Cristiano Ronaldo, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and others.
