The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Centre (MBRAH) has announced the completion of its supplier complex, the first vertical aerospace complex in the region.
Located in MBRAH’s supply chain cluster, the 12,000-square-meter facility provides light industrial space for maintenance service companies, aircraft engine and spare parts traders, and aerospace and drone companies to do business.
A statement from MBRAH said the complex has 86 rentable units over three floors, providing companies with a plug-and-play solution to quickly and easily establish a base in the facility.
The new facility, aimed primarily at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups, was inaugurated at an event hosted by MBRAH in partnership with Stratasys, a pioneer in the adoption of additive manufacturing in the aerospace industry.
Aerospace companies operating in supplier complexes benefit from incubators and a variety of incentives and support programs designed to help companies run their business smoothly and cost-effectively. The complex also houses a logistics department that provides customized services to companies within the facility.
According to MBRAH, several companies from around the world have established their locations at the facility.
Over 40% of the units are pre-leased during the construction of the complex. Industry sectors covered include Maintenance, Repair and Operations Supplies (MRO); Aviation Logistics; Spare Parts Trading; Drones, Aerospace Sector; Software; and Avionics.
A senior official said MBRAH was planning two additional phases of the complex amid growing demand.
“Through various innovative industry initiatives, MBRAH seeks to support Dubai’s strategic vision to attract foreign direct investment and transform itself into a global hub for various high-value industries,” said its CEO Tahnoon Saif.
“The supplier complex is in line with our mission to provide the aviation industry with the infrastructure, facilities and business support services it needs to grow and prosper. By providing a comprehensive ecosystem, logistics network and unique services, the new facility supports aerospace companies in gaining simplification access to the region’s vast aviation market,” he added.
