[ad_1]

As part of the ongoing efforts to advance the knowledge and capabilities of artificial intelligence, Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) hosted the latest MBZUAI AI Talks, focusing on artificial intelligence in government.Webinar hosted by MBZUAI Provost Professor Fakhri Karray, Researchers, faculty, students and local technical experts from the UAE and abroad attended the meeting.

His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Abdelhameed Al Askar, Director General of Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), pointed out that today’s data is compared with natural resources such as oil based on its potential economic impact.

Dr. Al Askar clarified how the UAE and Abu Dhabi go beyond assumptions through specific artificial intelligence use cases. For example, he pointed out that last year, Abu Dhabi deployed machine learning capabilities to localize cardiovascular disease risk calculators. It is estimated that by proactively identifying these risks and treating them before they deteriorate, this will greatly reduce the operating costs of the health sector.

In the field of education, Dr. Al Askar emphasized that Abu Dhabi has deployed a model to predict and improve student performance. The Abu Dhabi Digital Authority has also worked with the police to develop a traffic safety and accident prevention tool that uses traffic cameras to detect mobile phone usage and seat belt violations.

“So far, we have identified several high-impact use cases, focusing on healthcare, economic development, education, municipal, transportation, and community development, ready to be implemented,” said Dr. Al Askar.

“Artificial intelligence will have a huge social impact in the future. As we become more dependent on phone calls and text messages, human interaction becomes increasingly scarce, and as the ability of artificial intelligence to communicate with humans improves, this This kind of alienation will only increase.” His Excellency Dr. Al Askar observed.

It is worth noting that the UAE expects that by 2031, through artificial intelligence investment and adoption in various fields, GDP will grow by 60%. It is estimated that by 2031, this will bring economic benefits of AED 353 billion.
