The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi, which offers masters and doctorate programmes in computer vision, natural language processing and machine learning, is now open for admissions for the 2023/2024 academic year.
According to the computer science rankings, the university is ranked 30th globally in its focus areas (artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning and natural language processing). This puts the university ahead of prestigious research universities such as the University of Michigan, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Toronto in North America; Imperial College London, EPFL and the Max Planck Institute in Europe, among others.
“As a university, one of our core goals is to develop top AI talent who will become leading academics, engineers and entrepreneurs,” said MBZUAI Provost Professor Fahri Karray. “For the 2023/2024 academic year, we are looking to recruit an exceptional group of students from reputable local and international universities.”
MBZUAI recently welcomed 125 new students as part of its Fall 2022 admissions ceremony. New entrants include 22 doctoral and 105 master’s students and 30 UAE nationals. The university’s student body now exceeds 250 graduate students.
The university continues to attract top students from more than 25 countries due to highly qualified faculty and their published work. Academic seats are competitive with an acceptance rate of 3.73%. There are 22 new doctoral students and 105 master students.
The University aims to empower a new generation of AI leaders through educational excellence and a unique academic model focused on AI research and applications and academic excellence.
Nearly three years after its founding, MBZUAI has been recognized for excellence in research and faculty, who have led or co-led a staggering number of top global conferences in 2022, including the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) ), Causal Learning and Reasoning (CLeaR 2022), and the Uncertainty Conference on Artificial Intelligence (UAI). – arab trade news agency
