DUBAI, UAE – McDonald’s Emirates raised AED 325,000 for the Emirates Red Crescent during Ramadan through the sale of its unique playing cards, The Cards for Good, aiming to bring the community together through fun challenges and acts of kindness. 65,000 decks of cards were sold in restaurants across the UAE, 100% of the proceeds were donated to the ERC to support their charitable and humanitarian activities.
This partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent has been going on for five years, with previous donations totaling over AED 1.5 million. Cards for Good surpassed the donation of AED 310,000 raised last year through the sale of story coloring books for Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts.
Commenting on the results, McDonald’s UAE CEO Walid Fakih said: “We are very grateful for the national support for ‘The Cards for Good’ during Ramadan. Through our continued strong partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent, we strive to be a responsible As a corporate citizen, these efforts are exemplified this year.
