McLaren roll out change drive At last year’s competition in Abu Dhabi, Vuse partnered with one of its key sponsors to provide a platform for underrepresented creatives on competition weekend.
For the final round of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit, McLaren teamed up with Lebanese artist Anna Tangles to give the MCL36 a new look.
Retaining the team’s Papaya and Blue colors, Tangles pieces are interwoven with swooping, flowing shapes on the sidepods and front wings to refresh the uniform.
These patterns replace the blocky colors commonly seen on the car, while keeping with the wider livery and design.
The livery was unveiled on Wednesday night at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island before driving on Lando Norris and Daniel Ricardo The latter was his final appearance for the team all weekend.
“As a lifelong F1 fan, I never imagined that one day my work would be featured in a grand prix, all thanks to Driven by Change,” said Tangles.
“I spend my spare time training and encouraging other artists, especially other Middle Eastern female creatives, to embrace their passion and skills, so it’s an honor to be part of a community that supports the same ambitions, namely in this field Ways to empower underrepresented artists.”

For the 2021 race, McLaren used a design by Emirati artist Rabab Tantawy for its debut change driver Activity.
