UK Performing Arts and Entertainment Union fair posted a Commitment be opposed to bullyingharassment and misconduct on television.
The statement was made by 21 major UK and international organisations, including AMC, Apple TV+, BBCCasting Directors Association, Channel 4, Channel 5, Cooperative Personnel Management Association, disneyEquity, HBO, Intimacy Director & Coordinators, ITV Studios, Northern Ireland Screen, Pact, Paramount, Personal Managers Association, S4C, Screen Scotland, Sky, TAC, and Warner Bros.
Equity is calling for a meeting of these organisations where they share a commitment to creating a work environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect – with no tolerance for bullying and harassment – and any concerns raised will be responded to and acted upon promptly.
In practice, this means creating safe casting and audition spaces where professional recruitment standards will be applied and auditions will be conducted in appropriate workspaces; producers will explicitly respect work policies, which include raising and addressing concerns about bullying and harassment and complaints process.
Additionally, information will be shared with cast and crew on how to raise concerns if they are a victim of or see a victim of misconduct, for example, information on the phone list and displayed in public areas, getting support and Ways to report the helpline and protective touchpoints for each product; cast and crew will complete anti-bullying and harassment training before starting work.
Additionally, Safeguarding Contacts: A suitably trained senior member of the production team will be nominated who can be reached and who can proactively make any necessary adjustments; for nudity and simulated sex, requested nudity and /or simulate the scope and extent of sexuality, then discuss and agree with the artist. For scenes of an intimate nature, an intimacy coordinator will be hired if acceptable to the actors involved.

However, building a culture of inclusion and respect requires actions, not just words, and I encourage all those working in the field to recognize their responsibility to report misconduct conduct and stand united against any pressure to remain silent on these issues.”
