Hackers who stole the personal data of Medibank customers, Australia’s largest health insurer, have released a data file containing medical documents related to abortion.
The latest leak comes a week after Medibank refused to pay the ransom and hackers released a slew of data related to medical procedure histories, as well as users’ names and addresses.
“One more file Boozy.csv added…” the ransomware group wrote in a blog update on the dark web in the early hours of Friday.
“You said we were releasing some data that was woof-woof,” the hacker wrote in a blog post Friday.
“But we warned you. We’ve always kept our word, if we don’t get the ransom – we should release this data because no one will believe us in the future.”
The data contained details of about 240 policyholders, who were reportedly being contacted by Medibank on Friday.

Health insurers have asked the public not to seek out the documents. Chief executive David Koczkaro has warned that data breaches could deter people from seeking medical attention.

“There are real people behind this data, and the misuse of their data is deplorable and could deter them from seeking medical care,” he said, according to BBC News.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the leak “disgusting and…totally reprehensible” and said the government was trying to contain the impact of the data breach and help those affected by it.

Unidentified hackers stole the data of 9.7 million Medibank customers, stolen last month.
This week, after Medibank refused to pay a $10 million ransom, they leaked the first pieces of information — that’s roughly $1 per customer.
