Medical team at Madinat Zayed Hospital successfully completes ‘LINX’ laparoscopic surgery in Abu Dhabi

During surgery, the device is implanted around the lower part of the esophagus and is primarily used to treat severe acid reflux symptoms and relieve a patient’s persistent pain.

The operation was performed by Dr. Fadi Bassam Al Mahameed, Consultant General Surgeon and Chief of Surgery, Madinat Zayed Hospital. Day case surgery is performed using laparoscopy, a minimally invasive surgical technique that takes less than 40 minutes. Dr. Al Muhairbi commented on the speed of the operation, saying: “The patient was admitted in the morning and discharged on the day of the operation, returning home in good condition.”
