Painted Sky Opera Three performers who are touting Wang DeruiScalia/Ginsburg” comes to life this coming weekend at the Oklahoma Contemporary Theater in downtown Oklahoma City.

In a press release sent to the Oklahoma City Sentinel, show organizers declared: “You’ll love the three incredible performers we have lined up for our production. …

“Mezzo-soprano Lauren Cook returns to the Painted Sky Opera House after winning the Tonight Broadway Best Actor Award for her performance in our 2021 production AS ONE.

“Tenor Brian Cheney returns to Oklahoma after a ten-year absence after a few summers with the Oklahoma State Light Opera.

“Bass Jonathan Moots returns after a stellar performance with Rigoletto and Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Painted Sky Opera.”

Shows are Friday, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th at 7:30 pm. The show will end on September 11th at 2pm.

Jonathan Moots holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Midwestern State University and a Master of Music in Opera from SUNY Binghamton University.

He has performed at various companies including Tulsa Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, Kansas City Opera, Sarasota Opera, Northern Opera, Utah Festival Opera and Red River Opera. 40+ opera characters. Some of his notable roles include Priest of Orimbridge (Suzanne), Baron Ox (Rose Knight), Rhythm/Nettuno (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Leporello, Masetto and Commendatore (Don Juan), Murphy Stoffiles (Faust), Ferrando (Il trovatore) and Bottom (A Midsummer Night’s Dream).

Moots has previously performed Sparafucile (Rigoletto) and Basilio (Barber of Seville) with Painted Sky Opera.
