Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC), the region’s definitive pop culture festival, has announced the addition of another out-of-this-world addition to its celebrity line-up, including Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels.
He is known for bringing the beloved character C3PO to life and is the only actor to appear in all nine Star Wars films. Daniels has also played a role in many of the franchise’s spinoffs. Tickets are now on sale for the 11th edition of MEFCC, which will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) from 3-5 March 2023.
Joining the current International Artists Alley sponsored by Manga Arabia are legendary cartoonists Ken Lashley and Ryan Ottley. Ryan Ottley is revered for his iconic work in Marvel titles such as The Amazing Spider-Man and the Hulk. He was handpicked by Robert Kirkman to write on Invincible for the chance to draw 144 of 127 issues.

On the other hand, Ken Lashley has worked in the comics industry with DC (Suicide Squad, Supergirl, Batwing, Superman) and Marvel (Excalibur, X-Men Gold, Nova, Black Panther) .
To participate in the highly sought-after WCS Qualifiers, contestants will perform in pairs on stage and participate in a pre-judgment segment where all costumes and props will be checked by respected professional cosplay judges and representatives of the WCS committee. Winners of this cosplay category will have the opportunity to represent the UAE at the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan.
Movie buffs will be in for a treat with this year’s Cine Club lineup. There are exclusive screenings of feature films, trailers, and feature films featuring shoutouts from favorite stars and franchises; Q&A panels with guest stars sharing their personal experiences in the industry; Come celebrate your passion, or even a full celebrity panel, where stars tell their stories face-to-face in front of an audience of superfans and enthusiasts.

Other galleries to visit at this year’s MEFFC are the retail area, where fans can snap up a range of collectibles, signed merchandise, exclusive and bespoke artwork, and the outdoor festival stage at Festival Plaza, which features a wealth of cosplay, dance competitions, popular Quiz, karaoke and more.
