Residents and tourists alike won amazing prizes in the dazzling Diwali celebrations organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Agency (DFRE). Two large-scale sweepstakes over two weeks were led by Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) and Dubai Mall Group (DSMG). The lucky ones to shine in the Golden City of Diwali are Anan Khan, SrishtiTiwani, Geeta Dhanani and Yasir Munam, Ulzal Hussein and Zahidul Islam. Winners in the Shop and Win Gold lucky draw included Frino Rebelo, Karl Sausman and Lydia David.
An Egyptian man, DSMG’s Shop and Win Gold Raffles winner Hussain said: “I can’t believe I won. This is my first time participating in the competition. My wife and I were shopping at Dubai Outlet Mall and decided to try it. Luck-I’m glad we did it!”
Fatema from the UAE is another winner of DSMG’s Shop and Win Gold Raffles. She said: “When I got the news, I was ecstatic and finally I won. I have been trying to win anything for so many years. The plan is to sell prizes and donate money to help those in need.”
Resmi, Indian male, winner of the DGJG Diwali Golden City Lottery, said: “I am very happy to win this award. My wife’s birthday is approaching and now the gifts are organized.”
Senhil, Indian male, another winner of the DGJG Diwali Golden City Lottery, said: “This is my 10th anniversary for my wife and I. There is no better way to celebrate than winning this prize-we are very happy to win Such a big prize.”
During the Diwali celebrations, the Golden City Diwali Illumination has always been one of the most popular draws. The raffle is organized by the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG). Starting from October 21st, visitors have a chance to win a 150,000 dirham jewellery gift certificate. Shoppers who spend AED 500 or more at any participating jewelry store are eligible to receive a raffle ticket. On the last day of the event, 15 winners were selected through a lucky draw, and they all won jewellery vouchers worth AED 10,000.
Other attractive offers during the City of Gold Diwali Glow include diamond jewellery discounts (up to 75% discount), free gifts for various purchases, and free “production fees” for certain items.
The Shop and Win Gold event organized by the Dubai Mall Group (DSMG) also lasted from October 21st to the end of Diwali, attracting dozens of people. Buyers purchased digital lottery tickets at a price of 200 dirhams at participating shopping centers, and a big draw was held on the last day (November 6). 20 winners each received 20 grams of 24 carats of gold.
