The home of Megan Thee Stallion was reportedly ransacked by two burglars, who stole up to $400,000 in jewelry, cash and electronics.
The 27-year-old rapper announced on TMZ Friday (10/14/22) that she announced she was quitting hosting “Saturday Night Life” minutes after her Los Angeles house was targeted Thursday night.
It said authorities told them the couple, wearing hoodies and gloves, smashed a glass door at the back of the rapper’s home and went straight to her “master bedroom”.
The outlet added: “Our sources say scammers took around $300 to $400,000 (£270 to £360,000) of jewellery, cash and electronics from the home”.
TMZ said Meghan was not at home during the break-in and said police would be trawling the incident on CCTV: “At this time, police have not made any arrests but we have been told there is home surveillance of the break-in and detectives are working on it. Get more video and evidence from neighbors to help them catch the perpetrator.”
A representative for Meghan did not respond to a request for comment when the report was published.
Shortly after the story broke, Meghan tweeted to fans on October 15 about her exit from Saturday Night Live: “Hot girls I’m so sorry but I’m really taking a break after SNL, I’m in Very tired physically and emotionally.”
This prompted a slew of fans to wish her well and ask if she was okay.
In a promotion released Wednesday for her scheduled SNL show, Meghan appeared in a kit, confronting named actress Sarah Sherman in the skit.
Sarah, 29, asked Meghan if she was nervous before rehearsals for the show, and the rapper said: “I’m excited, but a little nervous!”
Meghan then looked Sarah up and down and said, “Sarah, b****, did you know you’re completely naked?”
Speaking of her definitive track with Cardi B, Meghan added: “Let me be the first to tell you that your whole WAP (wet a**p****) came out.”
Grammy winner Meghan performed on SNL twice in 2019 and the following year.
