The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled from their home in Montecito, California, to New York City on Monday to attend the 2022 Ripples of Hope Awards Gala presented by the Robert Kennedy Human Rights Organization.
The former senior British royal has been named the recipient of the Wave of Hope award, which honors what the organization describes as “incredible changemakers for their commitment to social change and making our world a better place.” Better and more hopeful.”
During the gala, RFKHR and the Archewell Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced a new collaboration. Together, the organizations will launch a new category in RFKHR’s annual Speak Truth to Power video competition, offering participating students the opportunity to create videos featuring women human rights defenders.
“Women have long played a vital role in advancing human rights, from Ida B. Wells to Malala,” kerry kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights President, said in a release. “Acknowledging and celebrating these pioneers — the women who continue to work to build a better, more just world — is key to protecting our rights for the future.”

She wore Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring – the same stone she wore to her 2018 wedding reception – along with diamond earrings and a black Givenchy bag.
